go to site Change is the only Constant. It applies to every aspect of our lives including the technology we empower and that which empowers us. Evolution of Data Center technologies over the past 10 years has been so fascinating, rapid and very dynamic. We are in the middle of the next Industrial revolution where Digitization is fueling the growth of modern economy. Digitization is driving growth of business by empowering their customers with all the right information at the right time through all the right mediums which empowers them to take the right decisions. And this is what drives the tremendous growth inside the data center. For example, in the compute space we have moved from discrete servers to blade servers to Converged Infrastructure system to Hyper Converged infrastructure systems. The modern storage systems are driven by Flash drives than the traditional hard disks to ensure we deliver more performance with less HDDs and that means greener data centers! We have moved from centralization of data to data being local! What’s right today probably wouldn’t be right tomorrow and that’s the age we are living in. There are a lot of thoughts and guidance on what the pillars of modern data center […]
2016 has been the Year of Hyper-Converged Infrastructure with so much choices and capabilities from different players towards the customers. Still reminded of the VMworld at San Francisco visiting Simplivty when they were just coming out of stealth and even wondering if this was realistically possible and here i am writing post on Hyper-Convergence as a Nutanix Technology Champion ! What is NTC ? This program recognizes Nutanix and Enterprise Cloud experts for their ongoing and consistent contributions to the community and industry. It also provides them with unique opportunities to further expand their knowledge, amplify their brand, help shape the future of the Enterprise Cloud. Benefits Early access briefings about Nutanix products and announcements Access to private betas and insight into ongoing product development Participation in exclusive meetings with engineering teams Access to discussions on the Nutanix NTC slack channel with internal teams Support of individuals in pursuit of Nutanix Platform Professional (NPP) Certification Mentorship for those seeking Nutanix Platform Expert (NPX) career development Exclusive guest blogging and speaking opportunities For at least couple of years, I have been following – Simplivty , Nutanix & VSAN on the Hyper-Convergence space along with the advancements that has been happening on each […]
Recently one of my customer had the following error message when he was trying to recompose a pool of virtual desktops from a new patent virtual machine. ” Refit Operation resync failed “ Scanning through the infrastructure and logs quickly realized that the error was due to mismatched hardware version of new parent virtual machine and existing desktops that had already been deployed in the pool. The existing linked clone desktops were of hardware version 10 whereas the newer parent virtual machine was with virtual hardware version 8. It’s important to verify and ensure that when you try to recompose from a new parent virtual machine , hardware version of the new parent virtual machine should match with the existing linked clone desktops. Hardware version on the master virtual machine should never be a lower version than that of the hardware version on the existing linked clone View Desktop. Happy Recomposing !
